  • 02/23/12--17:10: Ladies Satsuma 0 v Daphne 10 (chan 1411900)
  • With two league wins and two cup losses last weekend the Trojans were determined to get back into winning ways tonight. They started determined to finish early and in the first half put 9 in the goal against a good solid Satsuma defence. Goals throughout the half came from Rachael Lane 5, Rianna Gurvitz 3 and Kristen Combs 1. Assists from Alma Avalos, Lexi Elgin, Ashleigh Gavaletz and Rachael Lane all 1 a piece and Rianna Gurvitz a brace, they just didn't have enough time to finish the game off, much to Satsuma's determination in defending solidly.

In the second half The Trojans came out a little sluggishly but soon got the upper hand again. A superb corner kick from Rianna Gurvitz was met with a solid header from Kristen Combs to end the game 10:0 to the lady Trojans.

  • 02/23/12--17:54: Boys Houston Academy 0 v Daphne 2 (chan 1411900)
  • With a rain soaked pitch (McGill Toolen) Daphne attacked all the first half. Goals from Brandon Roberts and Levi Ehmka and both assists coming from Josh Gurvitz corner and free kick flick on by Javier Hernandez-Berrios. The half was interupted with thunder but even that couldn't help the Houston Academy. They defend in a solid formation but I believe the team is young. Saying that they weren't outplayed and deserve as much credit as the winning team. The coach and players should all get credit for a great game. With the rain continuing it was agreed to finish the game early, Daphne Trojan the winners and winning the competition for the second year in a row. Well done Tojans.
